Of my two grandmothers, One was born in Penza. I'm not sure if it was Penza city, or Penza area, but it is within Mordovia. Mordovia is just to the West of Kazan and I'm told many Mishar Tatars are from this area. I'm also told that many Tatars that reside in Finland are from Mordovia as well.
